The cranberry has been used for centuries for its health benefits. Scientists have discovered that has many compounds that help to promote health. These include anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins, which restrain bacteria in the urinary tract and may also help treat urinary tract infection. The acidic nature of the cranberry helps to prevent kidney stone formation. Cranberries are a rich source of minerals and vitamins such as Vtritamins A and C.
A popular use for the cranberry is its ability to address urinary tract infections (UTI). UTIs are very common; one out of two women will experience at least one during her life. The proanthocyanidins help fight off the bacteria that lead to UTIs.
