How to Handle Dry Skin.

29 September 2009

Daily use of most soaps and cleansers can greatly reduce your skin’s natural ability to repel the thousands of irritants and toxins that are commonly found in the home and work place. Once these irritants penetrate your outer layer of skin they can cause dry skin conditions. Dry, itchy skin is nature’s way of letting you know that this protective barrier has been stripped away.

You could use conventional moisturizers that, when applied to the surface of the skin, temporarily mask the symptoms of dry skin. They are much too heavy and complex to penetrate the outer layer of skin.

A new type of skin care product, Shielding Lotions were developed though years of resarch into how skin heals. They form a protective shield on the outer layer of skin and helps keep out irritants and allows the natural oils and moisture to remain in the skin so it can heal better.

It had long been recognized that vitamins play a major role in maintaining healthy skin. Much of the credit goes to their antioxidant properties that works wonders.  The  vitamins for healthy skin are vitamin A, C and E, which if not consumed properly, can lead to your skin being dull and lifeless. Vitamin E and vitamin C have antioxidant properties and owing to this fact, they help a great deal in preventing any sort of skin damage. Vitamin A prevents the sunrays from causing any harm to the skin and Vitamin C works towards healing the skin.
